About Silvia Marinari Hakanoglu

I like to capture the fleeting moment.  I use available light and look for the spontaneous in my subjects.  My work centers around people in their environments.  I also focus on landscapes, in which the play of light is the key attraction.

I took my first photography course with Gian Colombo and Nick Giordano. in Milan, Italy, while I was in high school.  Later on, having moved to New York City, I learned printing techniques in color and black and white at the International Center of Photography.

I specialize in black and white film photography, which I print myself.

I have exhibited in solo and group shows in New York City and Connecticut.

I am a member of the artists cooperative SoHo Photo Gallery, located in TriBeCa.
